Cookie Policy Updated

Last updated: July 11, 2026

The Short Version

Wheel of Blame's own code sets no cookies — your roster and blame history live entirely in the URL, never on a server. But we do run Google Analytics and Google AdSense on this site, and those third-party services do use cookies/local storage on their end. You control whether they're allowed to via the consent banner shown on your first visit (or the button below to change your mind anytime).

How We Store Your Data

All wheel state is stored in your URL hash — the part after the # symbol. This never gets sent to any server. It lives entirely in your browser's address bar and disappears when you close the tab or navigate away without saving the link.

Manage Your Consent

You can change your cookie choice at any time:

This clears your saved choice and shows the consent banner again the next time you load the app. You can also click "Cookie Settings" in the app's footer.

Third-Party Cookies

ServicePurposeRequires Consent?
Google Analytics (GA4)Aggregate traffic & usage analyticsYes — analytics_storage
Google AdSenseDisplaying and personalizing adsYes — ad_storage / ad_user_data / ad_personalization
Microsoft ClaritySession recordings & heatmaps to understand how the wheel is usedYes — full cookie mode only if accepted, otherwise cookie-less

We use Google Consent Mode v2 for Google's services. Until you accept, they run in a restricted, cookie-limited mode (or not at all, depending on your region); if you accept, full cookie-based functionality is enabled. Microsoft Clarity uses its own separate consent signal, wired to the same Accept/Reject choice below — see Clarity's consent documentation.

Your Rights

You can accept, reject, or change your choice at any time using the controls above. Rejecting does not block you from using the wheel — every feature works identically either way.
